How did your parents decide on your name?

I believe that my name has an interesting background to it as well!

My father was named Om Prakash [ओम प्रकाश ] which can be broken down as:
ओम : the spiritual icon in Oriental religions, which refers to the Atman (one self; or one's inner self)
प्रकाश : literally, light

My father named me Omanshu [ओमान्शु ], which is a Sandhi (aka joining) of the two words Om + Anshu [ओम +अन्शु ]. It can be literally broken down as:
ओम : one's inner self
अन्शु : a single ray of light

So literally, my father named me as a 'ray of light from Om', but wait, 'Om' is my father's first name; so the second connotation to my name is a ray of light (or a part of) from Om, my father, 'himself', which makes it an existentially allegorical name, IMO!

He told me this anecdote about 15 ago and how he came up with the name.
I love my name and I love my father.
