In ASOIAF, what are the most common names in each family, city or region?

The Lannister family likes its Ty- root. There's Tywin, Tytos, Tyrion, Tyrek and Tygett, just in the past few generations.

For the Starks, there's obviously Brandon, but also the prefixes Rick- (Rickon, Rickard), Ed- (Edwyle, Eddard), Cre- (Cregan, Cregard), Ar- (Arya, Artos, Arra, Arrana), Ly- (Lyanna, Lyarra), Alys- (Alys, Alysanne) and the name Benjen.

House Manderly has W- or Wy- names: Wyman, Wylla, Wylis, Wendel, Wynafryd.

The Targaryens use a specific set of roots for their names:
  • Vis-, as in Visenya and Viserys
  • Dae-, as in Daemon, Daeron, Daena, Daella, Daenerys, Daenora
  • Rhae-, as in Rhaegar, Rhaelle, Rhaella, Rhae, Rhaena, Rhaenys, Rhaegal
  • Bae-, as in Baelor, Baelon, Baela
  • Jae-, as in Jaehaerys, Jaehaera
  • Ae-, as in Aegon, Aemon, Aenys, Aerion, Aemond, Aemma
  • Mae-, as in Maekar, Maegor, Maelor
  • Other "ae" combinations, such as Vaella, Saera, Elaena, Helaena, Naerys

The ironborn look like they're fans of the "-on" suffix. Dagon, Balon, Theon, Euron, Aeron, Victarion, Quellon and Maron are all Greyjoy names.

House Martell uses a lot of M names (Mors, Maron, Myriah, Meria, Morgan) and names with a hard N sound (Doran, Oberyn, Arianne, Quentyn, Trystane, Lewyn, Qoren).

You often see the variation of Brynden (instead of Brandon) in the Riverlands, like Brynden Tully and Brynden Rivers.

Otherwise it's hard to denote speculate about popular names elsewhere in Westeros, either because we don't have a lot of historical names available or because we do but they don't show much of a pattern.
