Kit Kat garners positive PR for campus theft response

Kit Kat scored a major social media win this week when it leapt to action following one of the strangest heists in college history.

It all started when Kansas State student Hunter Jobbins tweeted this:

The tweet picked up plenty of attention, and even caught a brand manager’s eye:

So, what did the chocolate company do to make it right? They provided Jobbins with a carful of Kit Kats: 6,500, to be exact. Check it out:

JUST ANNOUNCED: The 2017 Social Media Conference for PR, Marketing and Corporate Communicators at Disney World.

The only thing missing from this story is redemption for the original thief. Jobbins said he would have welcomed him or her to share in the bounty.

“If the Kit Kat thief is reading this or keeping up with this, I would love for you to come and tell me, and I’ll give you a big hug, a thank you and a lot of Kit Kats,” Jobbins told reporters.

What do you think of the brand’s quick response, PR Daily readers?
