They share a paranoid world view, but other than that, not much in common.
Trump is more narcissistic, Nixon was more paranoid.
Policy? Nixon was in favor of a lot of intervention in the world, Trump is not. Nixon created a national health insurance system, Trump wants to gut it. Nixon started the EPA, Trump wants to gut it.
And, in terms of experience, they are completely different. Nixon spent his life in government. Trump has never held office. Nixon served in the armed forces, Trump had a bone spur (that didn’t affect him before or after the draft).
In terms of upbringing? Completely different. Trump’s parents were rich. Nixon’s were poor. Nixon’s parents were Quakers and fairly strict about it, Trump’s parents were mainline Protestants.
Style? Trump is very good at connecting with people (at least, some people) and rousing them to rage. Nixon was not.
Trump has been married three times. Nixon was married to Pat for 53 years.
Nixon drank heavily, Trump does not drink.
I can’t really think of a former president who is much like Trump. Perhaps Andrew Jackson is closest.
