What is the weirdest/grossest/most disturbing thing seen by emergency room staff? Do you ever find it difficult not to faint?

At a suicide scene, the patient had tried to hang themself from a rail but the rope they were using snapped. So instead they sat down on the stairs with the rope around their neck, tied the other end to the stair bannister and leant forwards.

They were found by a loved one sitting on the stairs, dead, the following morning.

Odd due to the fact that the person could have just sat back and released the pressure at any time and would have had to suppress so much of the natural survival instinct to commit suicide in such a "slow" way.
