Why is Fox News the most trusted national news channel in the United States?

That's the nature of the voting procedure.   (And note this was a vote.  The survey asked which network was trusted most.  It did not ask the respondents to rate each network for trustworthiness.)

Fox has a bias to the right.  All the others have a bias to the left.  So those on the left divide their vote among  5 other networks, whereas those on the right concentrate their vote on Fox.  If you used a different voting procedure, saying instant run-off, you might get a different result.

Similarly, imagine this survey on favorite fast foods, where the choices are:

1) Burger King
2) McDonald's
3) Sonic
4) In-N-Out
5) Shake Shack
6) Pizza

Clearly, Pizza would win, and by an overwhelming margin.
