Our wilderness needs help in cyberspace.
According to the World Wildlife Foundation’s Living Planet Report, the wildlife population has declined by 58 percent since 1970. The report says a major threat to wildlife is the loss of animal habitats.
Without advocacy for its preservation, it says, our wildlife and wilderness could disappear.
Founded in 1935, The Wilderness Society has helped to preserve nearly 110 million acres of wild land. The organization has played crucial roles in protecting our public lands.
To keep the public informed and to preserve our wild lands, The Wilderness Society is looking for someone to help spread the word online. It’s looking for a community coordinator and social media editor at its offices in Washington, D.C.
The right candidate will use social media savvy to expand the organization’s social media audience and generate awareness through both organic and paid channels.
Superb writing skills are necessary, as the candidate will be the primary voice on the organization’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels.
