Jobs in the industry appear to have a bright future.
Glassdoor’s recent jobs report, “50 Best Jobs in America,” used its “Glassdoor Job Score” to rank the top careers for 2018, and three of the top 10 spots went to positions that could be marketing-related roles.
Here’s an excerpt from its press release explaining how the score is determined:
The report highlights the 50 best jobs based on each job’s overall Glassdoor Job Score.2 The Glassdoor Job Score is determined by weighing three key factors equally: earning potential based on median annual base salary, job satisfaction rating and number of job openings. The jobs that made this list stand out across all three categories.
Coming in at No. 3 on its list was marketing manager. Here’s how it earned this position, based on the report’s criteria:
- Glassdoor job score: 4.6/5
- Number of job openings: 6,439
- Average base salary: $85,000
- Overall job satisfaction: 4.0/5
Other positions making the top 10 list that could fall in the marketing realm were strategy manager and product manager, landing at No. 7 and No. 9, respectively.
Here are all the jobs that cracked the top 10:

6. Electrical engineer

Though it didn’t make the top 10 list, communications manager earned a spot at No. 36.
