Everyone celebrates the season with their own traditions.
Some trim the Christmas tree and share stories and carols, and some light a menorah to observe the eight nights of Hanukkah. Many gather around the television to watch holiday classics like “Home Alone,” “It’s a Wonderful Life” or “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
Some cook a holiday ham; others order takeout from their favorite Chinese restaurant. Still others devote a day or evening of service in a soup kitchen to mark this season of giving.
Some PR pros are powered down for the week, but for those like us that can’t seem to kick their media habit, we’ve compiled the annual countdown of the most-shared posts from PR Daily in 2017.
The countdown will begin Tuesday, Dec. 26, and run through Friday, Dec. 29.
Tune in each day to see what stories gripped readers over the past year, and plan for what will come in the new year.
As we wrap up 2017—a welcome benediction for many—we want to thank you, our readers for making PR Daily more than just a news site for crisis responses gone awry, new media technology and best practices, content guides and the occasional Twitter-off. It’s a vibrant community of savvy, smart professionals who keep one another honest and share their hopes and dreams of what PR can be.
Whether you interact with us on Facebook, our #RaganChat on Twitter, through our comments section or in the emailed pitches we receive each day, know that we are so grateful PR Daily’s audience offers such vitality and spirit.
2017 will surely go down in history as one of the stranger years in American history. The political divide is more personal than ever, and the never-ending march of history has caught up with brands and celebrities in unprecedented ways. For every headline that made our stomachs turn, there were glimmers of hope, tales of human compassion and kindness, and a strong undercurrent of goodwill that promises a brighter tomorrow.
Here at PR Daily we also saw changes, with editor Beki Winchel transitioning to Ragan’s events team. We hope you will join us in thanking her for all her work over the years and wishing her well in her new position. Plus, this isn’t goodbye; she remains a regular contributor and a potent voice for our publication.
We can’t wait to share bright new days with you, our readers, and to continue sharing the stories that motivate and inspire you to reach new heights.
Come on, 2018. We’re ready.
Joyful tidings to one and all.
