The company announced Monday that the network’s co-president, Bill Shine is out. The announcement comes just days after the network parted ways with on-air personality Bill O’Reilly after sexual harassment allegations surfaced.
Many suggest that Shine’s dismissal is another signal that the company is looking to start fresh following the controversial departures of O’Reilly and Ailes.
Shine’s name came up several times in sexual harassment allegations against Ailes, listing him as one of Ailes’ enablers. One Fox News contributor even sued Shine for failing to investigate her claims against Ailes.
O’Reilly and Ailes have both denied the claims made against them.

Shine had been with Fox News since it started in 1996. New York Magazine was the first to report his departure:
BREAKING: Two sources inside Fox News say Bill Shine is out as of this morning
— Gabriel Sherman (@gabrielsherman) May 1, 2017
Fox News founder and News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch issued the following statement:
This is a significant day for all at Fox News. Bill has played a huge role in building Fox News to its present position as the nation's biggest and most important cable channel in the history of the industry. His contribution to our channel and our country will resonate for many years.
The exit of Bill Shine — a co-president at the network and a close ally of Roger E. Ailes, its former chairman — came nearly 10 months after Mr. Ailes was removed in the wake of numerous harassment allegations. Mr. Shine’s departure could portend big changes as the Murdochs move to retool a lucrative channel that has threatened to become an obstacle to their global business ambitions.Mr. Shine’s exit did little to quell a newsroom in tumult, however. Even as Mr. Shine was removed, another veteran executive with deep ties to Mr. Ailes, Suzanne Scott, was promoted. Ms. Scott, who is now the president of programming, has been cited in lawsuits against the network as a figure who enabled and concealed Mr. Ailes’s behavior.
Last week, Fox News personality Sean Hannity tweeted the following, using the hashtag #Istandwithshine:
I'll change it. #Istandwithshine https://t.co/W3BJ2wjzRD

Hannity also said he believed Shine’s departure would signal Fox News’ demise:
Gäbe i pray this is NOT true because if it is, that's the total end of the FNC as we know it. Done. Best Sean https://t.co/W3BJ2wjzRD

How would you advise the network to handle the reputation issues its facing?
