It's incredibly intellectually challenging, and it pushes you to be at the top of your game, and forces you to be able to play a lot of games at the same time.
There are some analogies that give you a sense of the feeling of investment banking. Imagine Niagara Falls or the Grand Canyon. Just seeing massive torrents of water flowing from point A to point B, or seeing how water can carve out a canyon over millions of years is pretty damn amazing. Now imagine, being somewhere that you can watch and feel tens of billions of dollars moving from point A to point B. That's pretty damned cool.
Also, you can feel the earth move. On a day to day level, you can see markets open and close, but you also feel the continents move. You feel empires rising and falling.
