The US already has gun laws that protect the population. The law states that the government doesn’t have the right to limit or eliminate our right to buy and use guns to protect ourselves in almost every state, which helps us protect ourselves.
Just last week the state of Missouri passed a new law allowing Constitutional carry which means a legal gun owner doesn’t need a permit to carry a concealed gun. This won’t change anything for the criminals since they do that already, but it will change things for the poor and economically disadvantaged who can’t afford to take the class to get a permit to defend themselves.
There are more guns in circulation now than ever before. We’ve seen record setting gun sales year over year for the past several years, yet non justified gun homicides have been dropping. The laws are working. We aren’t even in the top 10 in mass shootings.
Guns in circulation have risen, yet violent crime has decreased. If not for the widely publicized mass shootings, nobody would even care about guns or gun laws. The funny thing about mass shootings is, there is nothing to worry about for the average person. We are more likely to get struck by lightning than shot in a mass shooting.
