I would not want to cluster in a group of people and make myself an easy target. I would want to find my own hiding spot. The theater might be a good place. I could climb up into the catwalks for a vantage point, hide behind the curtains, or up inside the lighting booth where a shooter would be unlikely to go. The shooter would be wasting their time looking for strays in the lighting booth while the majority of his/her potential targets were left unattended and escaped the building.
The shooter would be looking to make the biggest impact, and one student wouldn't be it. The objective of this sick psychology is to take down multiple targets, isn't it? Therefore, I believe if I was in a cluster of people I'd be a sitting duck. I'd want to hide alone. That is merely my opinion, of course.
