In WW2, could America win single-handedly against Nazi Germany in its prime?

Nazi Germany in its prime? So, after the Fall of Francs until Barbarossa?

Let's assume the UK negotiates for peace and withdraws from the conflict. Maybe they hand over control of Malta and Gibraltar to the Italians, but retain the rest of their Empire.

Then it really depends on who is attacking whom?
The Germans have no fleet. Not one for preparing an invasion of the US.
The US, on the other hand, have no army to speak of - under 500.000 men under arms.
The Wehrmacht's size? 6.6 Million men.

So let's assume the British don't sink the French fleet and Germany either buys, loans or takes it instead.
The French Navy in 1940 was the fourth largest in the world, the Italians close behind them.
Together, they could have at least tried to take on the US Navy.
That could have made an invasion a viable option, and they could have supplied the troops.

On the other hand, an invasion into Germany in 1940? With what army?

So no, the US would have lost.
