I think it just further shows that rather than have Dany and Aegon fight (as seems likely in the books), they’re combining them and cutting Aegon out. Dorne’s poised to go for Aegon in the books and the Reach might do the same, for a similar reason as Olenna has on the show. Also worth noting that Olenna is a pretty minor character in the books compared with the show, so they may have her fill in for Aegon’s Reach lords.
I did do a “what the fuck” when Varys got from Dorne back to Slaver’s Bay in time for the ships to leave. Now that’s time travel.
Also, said this elsewhere, but: The Tyrells and Martells fought for the Targaryen side last time and lost. Meanwhile Jon and Sansa are starting to rally the old coalition (North, Vale, Riverlands) that won the last time. How cyclical will history be?
