What are some obscure benefits of being raised in America?

The majority of people living in America will never go a day ever giving a second thought to the availability of clean water to drink, shower and toilet. We even water our yards with drinkable water.

As I have traveled to other countries, I have found that this is a luxury and that many Americans don’t realize what a blessing this is. We have even more filtered water in our refrigerator doors so that we don’t have to bother to open the door to get a pitcher of cold water and pour it in a glass. Many people needlessly buy bottled water just to have the convenience of a small portion packaged and not have to fill a glass with tap water. A lot of communities put fluoride in the water to help with dental health (although controversial as to the benefits).

We water lawns by timers and many times water lawns and landscaping along highways while it is raining with no one monitoring it because it is so plentiful. Many people have swimming pools just because they like the look of clean water and don’t even swim in them. Americans use a lot of water washing cars, running water fountains, hosing down sidewalks and flushing toilets with clean, drinkable water.

In many areas, it is legal to dig a water well on your property and use all the water you want.
