Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. It is in vogue right now and too many people are becoming entrepreneurs because it is the popular thing to do. Not too long ago, becoming an entrepreneur was only what the unpopular people did. They were the misfits who often would not jive well in a company. Or they were the immigrants who couldn't get a good job because they lacked U.S. credentials. Today, the popular kids all want to be entrepreneurs because it is cool.
of course, that's generally not a good reason to smart a company.
If you have other opportunities, you should only start a company because it is your only option to solve an important problem. Often, there are many other ways to solve a problem than starting a company -- if so, take that path.
Being an entrepreneur is very noble. Entrepreneurs do a ton of good in the world. But many people become entrepreneurs because they want to be an "entrepreneur," not because it is the best way to solve an important problem.
