30 jobs in the PR and marketing world

Video games seem like the work of science fiction.

Gaming systems now stream television shows and movies and allow you to play cooperative games with people in other countries. There are even esports leagues that sell out sports arenas and pay tournament winners millions of dollars.

It was not always this advanced, though, and Nintendo played a significant role in its evolution.

Though founded in 1883 as a company that manufactured Japanese playing cards, it was its launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1983 that made Nintendo a household name.

The NES featured some of the most well-known video games, including Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong and Zelda, among many others.

The gaming industry has progressed quite a bit since the NES was introduced. To keep up with the evolving industry, Nintendo has developed many gaming consoles throughout its history. These systems include the Game Boy, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube, Wii and Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo has now sold more than 4.4 billion games and 703 million consoles.

Competing with industry juggernauts such as Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation means that engaging consumers and keeping them informed on social media platforms is a must. To that end, Nintendo is looking for an assistant manager, social media at its Redwood, California location.

The right candidate will develop, execute and measure social media initiatives for announcing product launches and organization news and driving brand awareness.

A strong understanding of social media analytics tools is necessary, as the candidate will create reports based on insights from these data to measure the success of the campaigns.
