How can a person who has neglected his book habit for several years and replaced it with an internet addiction rekindle his passion for books again?

I can empathize since I used to read like crazy in school, then hardly read any books in undergrad, and now I am now reading much more in grad school.

Find friends who read. A lot.
My reading habit was kickstarted by a friend who reads like crazy. Like a book a week. Subtle things like seeing a book always in the hands of your friends, chats over what books they are currently reading, will push you to read as well.

Many interesting shows originally came from books (like Game of Thrones).
Many times those books are much more interesting than the series, and are very fun to read.

Re-read old favorites.
Sometimes its just you haven't read anything meaty for a while, and your reading skills have rusted. I usually get around this by re-reading one of my all-time favorite books.

Get a kindle.
Sometimes you get the impulse to read, and it helps immensely if you can have instant gratification. Yes, I know this is really bad for your wallet. But I read the Foundation series this year mostly because once I finished a book, I could instantly buy the next in the series for very little money.

Like Kaushal Hooda mentions, finding like-minded people on Goodreads also helps. If you can, get into the habit of reading a book just before you sleep. This sometimes doesn't work for me since I get too absorbed in the book, and my mind doesn't switch off.
