If Canada were to be attacked right now, what would USA do?

Even before NATO, before Pearl Harbour, Canada and the US had a mutual defense pact. (Ogdensburg 1940).

Canada and the US already share intelligence including military intel (Five Eyes).

Canada and US jointly run NORAD. Our armies and navies train together often.

It would be virtually impossible for a convoy big enough to transport and supply an invasion force to even form up without notice by America, and the intel would be passed on. The US Navy would be assembling its sub forces to intercept. They wouldn’t fire unless fired upon until the convoy commits a hostile act.

The US would be co-ordinating NATOs response, positioning supplies at bases closest to the anticipated fronts, and mobilizing special forces and quick response forces.

As others have mentioned, Canada does have its own armed forces, but it also has two coasts to cover plus the arctic. The US would be figuring out how to cover the gaps as Canada moves forces into place. And the US would ask how much support it wants in terms of aircraft, naval and army units. They might put some units under direct command of the Canadian armed forces, they are practised at this - in Afganistan sometimes the US units fought under Canadian command and vice versa. Canadian naval units have lead multinational squadrons.

In short, the Americans would be treating it as an invasion of America, with the additional step of having to co-ordinate with Canada. If the situation were reversed, the US would have more than enough military muscle, but would probably ask for some token involvement from Canada, probably as part of NORAD.
