This was the same place that threw up greats like Tony Meo and Steve Davis, but the area was better known for it's boxers like Frank Bruno and Terry Marsh.This is the kind of place you could get mugged for a packet of cigarettes. People dress down and look threatening. It is not somewhere that you want to attract attention.
I had 40p on me and decided to waste it in the Fruit Machine (Slots in the US).
The last 10p hit the Jackpot.
Ker-ping Ker-ping. £100 pounds came out in silver coins. Each one ringing and welcome to every mugger and scary person in the area. It was entirely the worst place to win money.
They did change the money into notes at the bar and I did get home safely. although I have never played a slot machine since, so I won both ways.
