How would you spend your last 24 hours that you had to live?

1. Not tell anyone.
2. Spend as much time as I could with my children while they were awake. Take them to a playground. Do everything they enjoy doing. Tuck them in to bed at night, unaware that that’s the last time they’d see me alive. I’d want to leave them with happy thoughts.
3. Spend as much time as I could with my wife. Have a good, deep talk with her. Romance her. Have sex with her if she’s in the mood. If not, it’s cool too. Wait until she’s asleep. Then…
4. Go somewhere to be alone. Maybe church? Maybe the lakefront? Get junk food and cigarettes on the way.
5. Write some parting thoughts on paper for my loved ones.
6. Think about life and death.
7. Make a list of everyone I know who will be waiting for me on the other side.
8. Go home, sleep on couch in basement. Die in sleep. My wife would be the one to find me, not the kids. She could keep them out of the basement once she knew what happened. No need to traumatize them that way.
