For those who went to top-tier schools, is it more rude to answer directly when asked "What school did you go to/Where did you go to school?", or to instead name the city where the school is located? Why?

If someone asks, I think it is very condescending to not answer the question directly.

Dancing around the topic implies that the questioner is not equipped to handle your awesomeness, and you must not utter the name of the school lest their head explode once they realize they lie in the orbit of your power.
