How do mothers feel about their children?

It's a bond like no other. I would kill for my child and I would die for her. I know the majority of mothers(dads too) I've met feel the exact same way. I always remember my mother telling my sister and I,' You would do anything for your kids; you would die for them. If you or your sister were drowning, I'd jump straight into the water. If it was your dad, I'd have a bit of a think about it.'
Before having Izzy, I felt empathy with people, but with her it's a whole new level. It's a physical thing. I noticed this when she was a baby. I took her for her first set of injections and when she felt the pain of it and started to cry, it was like an electric shock through my body starting in my genitals, for some reason, and, (this came as a total shock to me) I let out a cry.
I cannot bear even the idea of anyone hurting her. When she started nursery I remember over hearing another kid being less than pleasant to her; I wanted to kick this kid into a nettle patch!
