What is the best advice your mother ever gave you?

Two things my mom always used to say, that have stuck in my head:

• If you're going to do something, do it right!
• Wear tight, beautiful dresses while you're young - later on, you won't be able to (i.e. Enjoy your youth while you've got it.)
