Wisdom from my mom:
- Wear shoes when wading in a creek or swimming in a lake. There might be glass or an old fishing hook.
- Love isn't a good enough reason to marry.
- People are more important than things.
- Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Skin washes. (Meaning don't be afraid of hard work or dirty work)
- I think you're going to survive. (If we were hurt or bleeding she was very matter of fact, not overly sympathetic.)
- Don't overstay your welcome.
- Keep some cash hidden in a secret pocket of your purse in case of emergency.
