Why were people mad about Dany sending Jorah Mormont away?

I'm not mad at Daenerys for it. I get it. It's hard to trust him after learning he was a spy, and Jorah does a shit job of trying to save himself. Instead of apologizing, he insists, quite stubbornly, that he has no reason to do so.

However, I wish she hadn't, because Jorah was her best advisor. Barristan tiptoes around her far too much, and Daario is the literal worst. Ser Jorah A), is extremely knowledgeable about both Westeros and Essos, and is able to give invaluable advice about culture and customs, and B) is willing to tell Dany when she's wrong about something. Any leader needs advisors who are willing to speak unpleasant truths to them, (look at Davos for Stannis, or Ned for Robert) and Jorah was that for Dany. With him gone, there is no one to check her. And trust me, she needs a lot of checks.

As a side-note, related to the description, I WAS mad at Jon for how he dealt with Melisandre on the show. I understand both Davos and Mel's arguments. She is a powerful ally against the White Walkers, but killing Shireen was a monstrous crime. Jon's decision was the worst kind of compromise: no one got what they wanted. She's not in the North anymore to help, and wasn't punished for her crimes. Her utility against the White Walkers was the only reason not to punish her. Either keep her at the Wall for the good of the realm, or execute her for justice's sake. His solution was not a good one.
