The Dutch triple kiss
In the Netherlands, when two people of opposite genders meet, they say hello and kiss three times on alternate cheeks.
(Right - Left - Right)
What's confusing about this?
Almost every other European country (except Belgium) has a one-kiss or a two-kiss system.
So when a Dutch and a non-Dutch persons meet, there is a moment
That awkward moment when you go for the third kiss and you are left hanging.
It is confusing for the non-Dutch person and awkward for the Dutch one.
