14th century, the Ming dynasty castrates the Yuan dynasty

When the Ming dynasty overthrew the Yuan dynasty, Mongol males were lined up next to wagon wheels. If they were taller than the wagon wheel they were executed, if they were shorter than the wagon wheel (meaning they were not yet adults) they were castrated* and made servants to Ming officials. Mongol girls were taken as concubines.

During the 15th century, the Ming dynasty put down a rebellion by the Miao ethnic group in southern China and repeated the same process of castration on the males. Ming soldiers who crushed the rebellion were given land and women from the Miao.

The Ming dynasty also demanded from the Korean Joseon dynasty an annual tribute of young women and castrated men. It was rumored that Koreans castrated boys by smearing human feces on their testicles, then having a dog bite them off ("Koreans are crazy!" is a centuries old meme in East Asia).

*The Ming dynasty method of castration removes the penis along with the testicles.

**Strangely, one of the greatest heroes of the Ming Dynasty would arise from one of those castrated by the victorious dynasty, Zheng He. He was famous as the admiral of the treasure fleets whose colossal vessels were the largest wooden boats ever constructed.
