First, star wars fanboys would rejoice and stick it to the star trek fanboys and never let Trekkies live down how they declared Trek is more realistic than Star Wars.
Second, the US government would deploy massive resources to cordon off the star destroyer. There would be insane amounts of conspiracy theories, and Donald Trump would be declaring that he’s the greatest president because aliens waited til his election to send us tribute.
George Lucas would immediately be rushed to Washington to consult with defense experts.
Elon Musk would lobby hard to get access to accelerate his Mars plan.
Lasers would become a huge thing.
British airmen would be recruited heavily to fly the star destroyer, and all US airforce personnel would be trained to speak with British accents so they would be allowed to command ships that the US government would be building.
The Russian and Chinese would have unprecedented espionage efforts unseen since the manhattan project, and the UN and international community would be lobbying for the US to release data and findings to the international community.
The Jedi religion would, overnight, explode worldwide.
New shows would be ordered up to plumb the depths of the star wars universe, and Neil Degrasse Tyson would be revising his estimate of the possibility of lightsabers.
