Is there a recognisable cultural difference in the definition of redhead between the USA and the UK?

It's very pretty, but it's not red.

I think the other answerer has a point - we have a lot of genuine gingers on this island. Scotland is stuffed with them. So our definition of red is likely to require a bit more flaming than the definition in a country where redheads only comprise a small part of the population.

Edit for stats: Wiki says that 10% of the Scottish population has red hair, compared to 2-5% of the U.S. population.
