You did not say American schools, so I am sorely tempted to point out something about Japanese education regarding World War II. Japanese history textbooks teach that the USA dropped the nuclear bomb on Japan, twice, and leave out that little altercation at Pearl Harbor.
Though in fairness, US textbooks generally omit discussions of the devastating things the US did to Japan's supply chains prior to Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor that caused them to treat the US as hostile and dangerous.
I wish both countries would recognize the full story about what led up to Japan being the only country ever to be attacked using nuclear weapons.
I suspect there are similar "They started it!" inaccuracies in the public school textbooks of many countries. But telling Japanese students that the US just one day decided it would be a good idea to incinerate Hiroshima is a rather outrageous piece of misinformation through omission.
