I know I was supposed to feel sad but to be honest I was kind of impressed. Cohen died at the age of 82. He died at home with his family around him having just released a highly acclaimed and commercially successful album. He was missed and mourned by the entire musical world who acknowledged the passing of one of the greats. He never sold out or went of the rails musically speaking and maintained his dignity to the end. The man even died with class.
I think if you took any musical artist with any integrity aside and told them you’d seen into their future and described that death, they’d be delighted.
Cohen was a true talent and a musical legend. We’re lucky to have had him for as long as we did.
