Here are my recommendations about what teens should do every day:
- Read a newspaper, especially the Op/Ed pages. Form an intelligent opinion on what you read.
- Get away from the game controler.
- Run, ride a bike, go for a walk, swim. Sweat a little.
- Save some money, even if it's just a few bucks. It's a very good habit to get into, and it adds up.
- Thank somebody.
- Ask a profound question.
- Learn a little more every day than you are required to.
- Like yourself.
- Show respect for others, and expect it in return.
- Know that wisdom is not related to volume.
Teen years are a wonderful time of life. Though I have no desire to repeat them, I wish I had done more of these things at that age.
