What do you say to someone making the argument against climate change that certain places were previously claimed to be underwater by now, but aren't?
I say “That's interesting. Could you link me to the original peer-reviewed paper which made those claims, so I can see exactly what the claims were?”
In the past decade, I have gotten exactly zero links to these supposed “claims”.
From this I conclude that the person asking the question is a deluded idiot, and I find that the best thing to say is “I wish you well in your endeavors”, while at the same time nodding and waving while backing away quietly.
