Three things came to mind immediately for me.
My wife and I have three children. The youngest is 2.
Since number one came along, I haven’t:
- Spent hours playing online video games. I don’t have the time usually. And when I do have the time, I don’t have the interest anymore.
- Had the music anywhere near as loud as I used to in the car. That’s because I’m NEVER alone in the car anymore. I teach at the same school that one of my children attends, so even my commute to work every morning is not alone time.
- Gotten more than three full nights’ sleeps in a row. This is not an exaggeration. Between children having nightmares or needing to go to the bathroom or the dog barking or whatever the reason, My wife and I get woken up in the middle of the night about three times per week. You get used to it.
