It would probably kill us all. Firstly the tides would stop, which would have disastrous effects on marine life, possibly destroying enough Eco-systems for humans to be killed. If humans survived, we would have to deal with the exaggerated tilting of the earth; the moon stabilises the earth and without it the gravitational pull of Jupiter would cause the earth to rock wildly, so one year the earth might be normal, the next year the North Pole could be facing the sun. This would cause quickly changing climates all over earth, making ice ages that last for a few years in some areas, giant deserts in others. The rotation problems presented would most likely cause entire seas to run dry and entire continents to flood. Very few things could survive, except MAYBE bacteria. It would almost definitely mean the extinction of humans and all other macroscopic life, and might even mean the end of life on Earth altogether. Thanks for having our back moon, we owe you one!!!
