Kids find a fun platform, and its use spreads like wildfire among them.
-
Kids’ parents catch on to the trend and create their own profiles on the platform du jour.
-
Kids find another platform that their parents don’t know about, and the cycle repeats.
As purveyors of social media knowledge, we at Ragan do our best to create a presence on emerging channels long before they go the way of MySpace.
That’s why we’ve created a Snapchat account, and we encourage you to follow us at ragan_prdaily or use the Snapcode above.
What’s great about Snapchat?
-
It’s not intrusive. Snaps go to your “Story,” which followers have to tap to view.
-
You can save content. Snapchat famously deletes messages after a few seconds, but it recently introduced Memories, which lets you save your best content for later viewing.
-
It’s brand new. Perhaps “new to brands” is a better descriptor. The metrics aren’t on par with those of Twitter, for example, which makes now a great time to build a following, so you’ll be established and up to speed when better metrics arrive.
Download Snapchat, and add us today! If you’re feeling ambitious, you can even add us by Snapcode (see picture). It’s actually a glorified QR code that you can use to add friends. Here’s how:
-
Take a picture of the Snapcode.
-
Open Snapchat and swipe down.
-
Tap “Add Friends.”
-
Tap “Add by Snapcode.”
-
Tap the picture of the Snapcode you just took.
