I will be answering on Behalf of Gaz.
Gaz (a nickname he got after CoD4 came out) was an SAS member who by this point had been serving with my dad for the best part of four years. He was also mandated to be my babysitter when I needed to be on camp but my dad was busy (some other good stories here).
So I was on camp with him, and he needed to test fire some weapons, so we went to the range. There were a couple other squadies there. So he fires a few different guns at one of those man shaped targets at 30m. He doesn't get very good accuracy because he's not really aiming for it.
Then one of the other guys says ‘why don't you give the kid a go, he’ll hit the target better than you are’.
He looks at the 12 year old kid stood next to him, and hands me a pistol. Loaded. Tells me to hold it tight.
And that is A) the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen someone do at work and B) the first and only time I beat a trained special forces member in a shooting contest.
