Over Christmas I was home visiting my parents. My dad was still in the military and they were throwing a formal party at the house, several generals/admirals came and brought their families with them.
It was a good time, everyone was having drinks and mingling, but I noticed that all of the general’s sons, who were in their early 20’s, were just standing around talking, semi-bored. Diagnosing the situation, I realized there were literally no young girls to mingle with.
In the spirit of wanting everyone to have a good time I went in the back room and called a platonic female friend and said “Hey – not sure what you are up to. But we are having a party at my parents’ house. There are a lot of guys here and 0 girls. They are handsome lads, you should call some of the girls and come over. Free food and drinks at worst!”
As I was leaving the backroom, I bumped into General D, he said, “Everything good?”
I replied “Yep, just trying to get some girls over, it’s a sausage fest in there!”
He laughed and patted me on the back.
About 45 minutes later a car pulls up and 5 girls came in and started talking and laughing with all the guys.
So if you want to make someone (single men in particular) like you in a small fraction of 5 minutes, show up at the party with a bunch of girls!
