What medical condition do you have that you thought was absolutely normal?

  • I have a rather long list of allergies.

I only recently discovered that this is not normal at all, when I asked my (now ex) boyfriend, what his allergies were. He replied ‘none!’ I was shocked by this, and he asked about mine. I rattled off the several major ones I have, and he was astounded by how many there were.

  • Mental health issues.

Oh so you don’t cry when you’re faced with socialising? How very odd?! I have social anxiety, which means that I find it increasingly difficult to socialise with people, and if I have to do so, I often end up having a panic attack. Up until a few months ago, I was totally unaware that many other people had this… I thought that no one really liked talking to people.

  • Chronic and phantom pains

I get pain all over my body, or pain that can’t be put down to one source. I thought that everyone had that weird and intense pain everywhere… apparently not.
