Because it wasn’t the same at all. It was not part of a larger plan to block all Muslims, and it was only a temporary block on the entry of a particular class of visas from Iraq, in response to a specific threat. Once the threat was lifted, so was the block.
The Right’s efforts to equate them is disingenuous and lacking in integrity.
