What are some less known facts about pyramids?

One fact most people don't know is that the largest pyramid in the world is not the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, but the Great Pyramid of Cholula in Mexico. And the third largest pyramid in the world is the Pyramid of the Sun, also in Mexico.

And unlike the Egyptian Pyramids, Mesoamerican pyramids were built as temples and meant to be climbed, with massive staircases going up them. If you visit (and you're in good shape) you can ascend to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun or explore some of the tunnels excavated under Cholula.
