A young Laura Buxton released a helium filled balloon during a celebration for her grandparents’ wedding anniversary in June of 2001 in Blurton, Staffordshire. Attached to the balloon was her name and address and a note asking the finder of the balloon to write back. A little over a week later Laura received a reply. The balloon had been found by another young girl by the name of Laura Buxton at HER home about 140 miles away in Pewsey, Wiltshire. Both girls were ages 10. Both had three year old black Labrador Retrievers, a rabbit, and a guinnea pig.
The girls were united and became best friends.
