What is the difference between Yara Greyjoy and Asha Greyjoy?

Essentially they’re the same character with a different name.

But:

Asha Greyjoy is a boss. She retreats to Deepwood Motte when Euron shows up and ends up being taken prisoner by Stannis, befriends Aly Mormont and starts to ingratiate herself with the Baratheon/northern alliance that Stannis is leading against the Boltons. She reunites with Theon in the North after he and Jeyne Poole (as fake-Arya) escape Winterfell. She doesn’t take shit from anyone.

Yara Greyjoy is pretty useless, talks a big game about freeing Theon before running off at the first sign of trouble. She then steals some ships when Euron shows up and promptly runs off to Meereen to make cow eyes at Dany.

She’s one of my favorite characters in the books and I think the show has watered her way, way down.
