Funny, I was asked this before I got my birthday present from my step daughter… and now I can answer it!
This year for my birthday, my step daughter made me a painting.
She carefully matched the color scheme to make sure it went with the rest of the living room (and it does- perfectly).
She came up with the concept herself and free-handed it.
It took her a while to get the ombre background just right, but she nailed it.
I absolutely love it. It makes me happy as soon as I see it.
That’s why I placed it so it’s the first thing you see when you come in, much to her embarrassment/delight (though I can tell it makes her more proud than self-conscious).
She always knows just how to melt me :)
