Here is my fool-proof way for doing things I would rather not do.
Step 1: Start doing it
Nothing gets the thing done faster than simply doing it.
Step 2: Once you've begun, incorporate a British accent. If you must wash your dishes, wash them while narrating the experience aloud. "Ello and welcome to anotha episohde of Dishes With Cole! I'll be your host, Cole!"
Step 3: Within 38 seconds you will be having a lot more fun.
You think I'm joking but I'm not. This is how I got straight As in college. I would memorize flash cards out loud in different accents, performing full monologues in my apartment by myself. When it came time to take the test, the words and their definitions came back to me as easily as recalling a melody (this is actually a memory trick I learned back in high school)—and made the studying process a lot more entertaining.
But the real answer is, you just do it. The difference between people who are successful and people who aren't is the fact that successful people find the same tasks just as not-fun, but they dig in anyway.
