Not rude exactly but annoying.
I was 20 and working in a rest home for old folks and at the time the youngest person. Most of the staff were middle aged and upwards.
It's also a hospital so you know it has corridors that stretch on like the passageways of eternal torment.
“You've got young legs Fran, can you run down to the kitchen…?”
“You've got young arms Fran, can you lift this…?”
“Can you do an extra shift Fran, you're young, you've got stamina…”
All. Day. Long.
I'm sitting here shaking my head like I'm young now but you bitches are aging me pretty fuckin rapidly you know?
Every time I have to run down to the other end of the hospital these old broads are standing around laughing their arses off.
Eventually I realised they're using this technique to avoid doing tasks and its less to do with how borderline cripple their creaky knees are.
So I got to the point where I just roll my eyes and say, “Karen, mate, if you can't handle the jandle then why are you still working? Get it yourself, buddy.”
It still took me the better part of my first year before I could have a cheeky dialogue with my old girls. Slack bitches. :P
