Did the f word (or an equivalent) exist in the middle ages?

It, in fact, did exist! The earliest extant, probable reference is from a court case in England in 1310. A man was called Roger Fuckebythenavele (not kidding you). But the word is probably older than that. Many Germanic languages (English is one) have old verbs like ficken focken, foken, etc., that are all related, and date back to at least the early Middle Ages.
