Hillary says if you don't vote for her then Republicans will win, but could the opposite be true?

No.

In the 2000 election, there were "Nader or Bust" voters.

Their existence didn't support the notion that it would be smarter to vote for Nader than Gore.

But their intransigence helped Bush get elected. (Well, sort of "elected."  But that's a different point.)
